Catbert's got the Cliff Notes version of that Study edition:
Jesus picked our religion as the one true religion in 1918, and if you don't pick it too, you will die!
And I loved the "root for Santa" post, too. hee hee hee.
i just read the first article in the july 15 study edition, entitled "the house-to-house ministry--why important now?
" i thought it was insane overall but i noticed that they seem to be reintroducing the "marking work.
" hadn't that belief been eliminated?.

I'll check these out when I get home (bookmarking!). Thanks for posting them...
my story - part 1. my story - part 2. in my previous thread (part 2) i stated that i would talk about my experience as a regular pioneer in this thread.
all of them took a special interest in me and gave me encouragement.
i told him i would think about it.
Jeremy, I just stumbled across your story today, and got very little done at work as I read through all three parts of your well-written account... I'm looking forward to part 4, and seeing what changed your viewpoint about things. I know that I find myself identifying with many of the feelings you had about conflicts, desire for acceptance, reaching out, etc. Thanks for sharing your story.
guys:.
as i mentioned in a past thread, (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/161647/1.ashx), i met ray and cynthia during the weekend!
i went to their home with my wife.
Thanks, Blondie... I had found that address, but assumed they were just a distribution point for his literature... didn't realize the mail went to him!
i posted this on another thread but it really got me thinking about how the wts could really do this:.
the wts needs to stop spending so much cash.. they have real estate but once sold and the proceeds used it offers no more value.. they need to simplify, simplify, simplify (and isn't that the mantra they recite each time they make an organizational change?).
they could: push more and more printing to the individual publishers in order to cut down on printing costs (this may only apply to developed countries but it still would result in significant savings).
I don't see this "print at home" happening... cost of ink cartridges is too high.
I can see them doing more digital printing (PDFs to supplement the MP3s), and distributing electronic digitally signed documents.

I looked for Ray's email address / street address when I finished reading CoC, as it meant so much to me and I wanted to thank him personally... but I never located it. How'd you all find it?? Will somebody PM me his email or mailing address?? I have a belated thank you note that needs sending...
"among believers who are catholic, nearly 80 percent surveyed believe other religions can lead to a right relationship with god.
more than 70 percent of orthodox christians agreed with the statement.. only among mormon and jehovah's witness believers did fewer than half of people surveyed agree that other religions can lead to eternal life.
thirty-nine percent of mormons surveyed agreed with that statement, and 16 percent of jehovah's witnesses agreed.
Exactly! 16% of the ones surveyed don't believe the official church doctrine!! Maybe that's why they're slacking off on FS? They don't think the folks need to be converted to be saved?

She said Christians who are open to the idea that other faiths have validity may not be rejecting the idea of Christ as the only path to God so much as they want to refrain from appearing that they, rather than God, are judging people with other beliefs.
THE SURVEY also found majorities of believers other than those in the Mormon and Jehovah's Witness faiths believe 'there is more than one true way to interpret the teachings of my religion.' "
I find that statistic interesting! 16% of JW's don't think they are they only ones who have the truth!!

i just found a july 1, 2008, watchtower on my doorstep.
i da'd myself seven years ago, and i notice the mag's format is different from back then.
it seems more like an awake!
Sway, everyone in the world CAN get the Study edition... well, at least in Audio MP3 format:
Free download! If you want to listen to this stuff, that is.... that's A WHOLE NUTHER QUESTION!
after loubelle's exercise thread, i thought it would be a fun idea to keep a log here and check in with everyone.. i walked 30 minutes yesterday plus after walked to the police station and the witch store about 3 miles away from the y.. food: .
breakfast: 2 pieces of toast: one with pb and the other with honey, coffee.
lunch: hardboiled egg, ham, cheese stick.
Way to go, sweetface!! Keep it up, that's awesome!
I just got in from another 6 mile walk; I skipped the walk yesterday but did 2.5 hours of yard work, which I swear was more strenuous than the walking!! Not as lucky as sweetface to notice clothes fitting more loosely yet, but that's GOTTA happen soon; I've walked 84 miles in the past two weeks.... keeping the diet healthy as well, and drinking tons of water.
